Best restaurants in Annecy: my personal selection

One of the top 3 questions I get asked most often on Instagram is: what are the best restaurants in Annecy? It comes up very, very often… so I decided to answer you in more detail, because the topic deserves a proper article and some very tasty photos!

This article is updated very often, to give you the most recent addresses I have tested. Last update: December 2025.

😋 Discover the best brunch addresses in Annecy

Of course, this article will certainly evolve as I make new discoveries, since many new places are opening in Annecy. It is also a completely personal article. Some addresses may not please everyone, and I have not had the chance to try them all.

I hope it will help you treat yourself in any case!

I have sorted the restaurants in Annecy by “theme” so you can find your way more easily. Off we go… enjoy your meal!

Best restaurants in Annecy: traditional 🫕

Clearly, it would be a shame to visit the Venice of the Alps and not taste a good tartiflette. Unless it is 30 degrees, of course, which can kill the urge for a cheese feast. For those who dream of raclette, fondue and other very local dishes, there are plenty of places in Annecy to enjoy them. My favourites are Chez Mamie Lise and O Savoyard.

Chez Mamie Lise, in the old town

If you are looking for a real Savoyard experience in Annecy, do not miss Chez Mamie Lise. It is a local institution that blends tradition and modern touches brilliantly. The restaurant is known for its cheese specialities such as fondue, raclette and tartiflette. I strongly advise booking, especially in high season, so you do not miss this essential culinary experience.

The setting is as authentic as it is warm, with an alpine chalet decor that invites you to relax. Between the rustic walls and the cosy atmosphere, you will feel like you are in the mountains. With 110 seats inside and 44 on the terrace, the restaurant has enough room for a comfortable meal. You can enjoy it by the fire in winter or in the Annecy sun in summer.

On top of the Savoyard classics, the menu pleasantly surprises with lighter options and dishes made with fresh, local produce. Charcuterie, steaks and Savoyard wines complete the offer for a total immersion in the region’s gastronomic heritage. However, keep in mind that quality has a price, which may seem a little high. We are in the heart of Annecy’s old town, so that is to be expected!

For a gourmet getaway, Chez Mamie Lise is the place for lovers of good food. The best of Savoie is enjoyed in an idyllic setting. Book your table by phone to be sure of a spot, and get ready for a comforting culinary journey in the heart of Annecy.

O Savoyard

With rustic decor and a gourmet menu in the heart of Annecy, Ô Savoyard is a well-known address for typical regional dishes. You will find raclette served on the plate (only from October to April), tartiflette made with Tamié cheese, fondue and other original dishes. Everything is delicious in this lovely restaurant of the region.

Lisca, the restaurant at Villa Caroline

Recently, I was lucky enough to discover a new culinary address in Annecy that really deserves a detour. Picture an elegant setting on the lakeside, in the chic hotel La Villa Caroline. This is where the restaurant Lisca has just opened its doors (on 17 May 2024). The name “Lisca” means reed in old French and fishbone in Italian. It sums up the spirit of the place well: a return to roots, with local products.

Chef Eloi Spinnler treats us to cooking that honours the region. Everything here is designed to limit waste: ingredients are used from A to Z, in an eco-responsible approach that speaks to me a lot. I was won over by the way each dish tells a story, that of our beautiful region and its producers.

The menu changes with the seasons and everything is homemade. Whether you are vegetarian or a meat eater, there is something for every taste. You can feel that the chef wants to offer dishes that respect both the environment and our taste buds. The little extra? The restaurant works with short supply chains. That means less transport, less CO2 and very fresh products.

If you are looking for a place in Annecy to eat divinely well and enjoy a quiet, beautiful setting, Lisca is the perfect spot. You go for the quality of the dishes and the relaxing atmosphere of a modern guinguette. And of course, you go to support a local initiative that makes a difference. Do not forget to book to discover this little treasure!

Restaurant Lisca, Villa Caroline: 624 Route d’Annecy, 74410 Duingt. Public car park nearby (800 m). Access from the cycle path and the D1508 departmental road.

L’Auberge du Lyonnais, in the heart of the old town

L’Auberge du Lyonnais is a restaurant in Annecy that I like a lot. Located in the heart of the old town, this historic address combines tradition and modernity beautifully. I have had dinner and lunch there twice. So I can vouch for the exceptional quality of the food, as generous as it is exquisite.

The setting is a listed heritage building, with undeniable charm and a terrace overlooking the Thiou, ideal for relaxing in the sun. The welcome is warm and the friendly atmosphere makes every visit special. Camille and Charles orchestrate a menu that highlights fresh, seasonal products. Their commitment to proximity and quality can be felt in every dish, creating a culinary experience that is both simple and refined. Whether it is for a hearty breakfast or a tasty dinner, there are options for every taste. And the value for money is excellent.

Brasserie des Antiquaires

I recently discovered the Brasserie des Antiquaires during an evening with the Ambassadeurs du Lac d’Annecy. It is a pretty address with slightly different decor. You get a brasserie spirit, soft lighting and comfortable banquettes, so you feel good as soon as you sit down. The menu offers both brasserie classics (croque, tartare, salad) and more elaborate dishes.

I had a real crush on the seared scallops, perfectly cooked and a gourmet plate without overdoing it. The desserts are excellent and the portions really generous.

Warm, professional service that is present without making a fuss.

You can come for a simple lunch or a more relaxed dinner, with no fuss. And you can be sure of eating well.

Le Vif

I discovered Le Vif a bit by chance, at the end of 2025, after hearing about it. And very honestly, it was an excellent surprise.

The cooking is very polished, with dishes worked in detail, well-judged combinations and a lot of finesse in the flavours. You can feel real research around the products, often seasonal, and a desire to offer something precise without becoming complicated or showy. Several reviews speak of creative but accessible cooking, and that is exactly what I felt at the table.

At first, I had a small reservation about the price to quantity ratio. I am only a moderate fan of sharing plate concepts (as a slow eater, I often feel I finish my plate in a rush). But the reservation quickly disappeared: the plates are really generous, especially given the level of cooking on offer. This is not a table where you leave frustrated, quite the opposite. For the quality of the dishes, the work in the kitchen, the flavours and the whole experience, the value for money is, in my view, more than fair!

It is an address I recommend without hesitation if you are looking for a restaurant in Annecy a little above average, without being stuffy, with a real identity and cooking that clearly makes a difference.

Le Black Bass: elegance on the lakeside 🍴

For a refined experience while staying focused on fresh, local produce, Le Black Bass is an essential address in Annecy. Located on the lakeside, this restaurant offers elegant, creative cooking that makes the most of seasonal products in an exceptional setting. With its terrace offering a stunning view over the turquoise water and its carefully decorated interior, it is the perfect place for a chic lunch or a romantic dinner.

The menu, designed by passionate chefs, showcases balanced dishes where each ingredient is carefully selected. You find delicate flavours, precise seasoning and presentations worthy of the finest tables. Lake fish, crunchy vegetables and indulgent desserts are among the highlights. Special mention goes to the féra ceviche and the creamy risottos, which appeal as much to lovers of local cuisine as to true gourmets.

Whether you are passing through for a quick meal or for a full gourmet experience, Le Black Bass promises a culinary journey in the heart of the Alps. It is the ideal address to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a good meal facing the lake.

Best restaurants in Annecy: healthy 🥗

For those who prefer a lighter, less cheesy option, good news: there are more and more “healthy” restaurants in Annecy with very appetising menus. Some of these addresses are already in my brunch addresses in Annecy, such as Haven and Kia Ora.

Haven

Haven is in the heart of Annecy and offers original, gourmet dishes. Located in a pedestrian area near the lake, it has an atmosphere that is both natural and exotic. It is perfect for a lunch with colleagues, a friendly brunch with friends or a comforting afternoon snack with the family.

What makes Haven so special is its eclectic, inclusive menu, which meets a variety of dietary needs. Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan and lactose-free options are designed to satisfy every palate. The quality and generosity of the dishes, together with sometimes unexpected flavours, make every meal a discovery. The drinks menu does not disappoint either. It offers a vast selection for coffee lovers, as well as a variety of tasty fruit juices and milk-based drinks, not forgetting the children’s menu designed for the youngest.

My favourites at Haven

Among my favourites, the Eggs Benedict with salmon, MADA bread, lemon cream and raspberry chutney offer a perfect harmony of flavours. The Green Smoothie Bowl, a refreshing mix of cucumber, avocado and other green delights, and the Brekkie Burger, with its pretzel bun and richly assembled ingredients, are essentials for savoury lovers. For those with a sweet tooth, the Smoothie Bowl and the pancakes, both indulgent and pleasing to the eye, are absolutely divine.

Haven is more than a simple café. It is an invitation to travel through flavours, where the passion for speciality coffee and for local or exotic products is obvious. Being able to book online makes access easier, so that every visit is as pleasant as possible.

In this space, where every detail has been designed to create a welcoming, exotic atmosphere, Haven is a real discovery for those who want to escape for the length of a meal while staying in the heart of Annecy.

You can book directly on the Haven website.

Pura Vida

Pura Vida is a very nice address close to the centre of the old town. The welcome is always very pleasant and the menu is very gourmet while staying healthy. The dishes are very generous and the value for money is really there. Note that the breakfast offer is very complete. For under €9, the açai bowls, pancakes or bagels are very filling.

My favourite savoury dishes: the Pura Vida Poke Bowl (sushi rice, 4 toppings, mango, chicken, smoked salmon or tofu) and the Pura Vida Bagel (fresh cheese, smoked salmon, avocado, red onions, pumpkin seeds, lemon).

And for something sweet, the carrot cake is to die for!

You can order directly on the website.

Kia Ora

“KIA ORA” means “be well” in Maori, and one thing is sure: you feel good at Clem and Marie’s. The little cocoon of Kia Ora lets you escape and, above all, taste flavours that are always very exotic. The dishes are designed for everyone, with options, and all the pastries are vegan. Vegan but delicious, for those who have preconceptions about the taste. Every week, the owners offer two dishes on the menu that are always innovative and colourful. So it is hard to make your mouth water in advance… you will have to try for yourself!

Granny Smith: the healthy, gourmet address in the heart of Annecy 🍏

Among the healthy addresses for restaurants in Annecy, Granny Smith stands out for its resolutely natural, gourmet approach. Located right in the town centre, this restaurant offers a varied menu showcasing fresh, seasonal products. The atmosphere is warm and you feel at ease straight away, whether for a light lunch or a comforting snack.

The house speciality? Its “formules éléments” are filled with carefully selected ingredients. Between the mixed salads, the tasty toasts and the homemade desserts, every dish is an invitation to treat yourself without guilt. Special mention goes to the cold-pressed juices and smoothies, perfect for refuelling after a walk around the lake.

Whether you are a fan of vegetarian and vegan options or simply curious to discover healthy, tasty food, Granny Smith clearly deserves a place in your address book. And with the option of takeaway, it is the ideal choice for a quick lunch or a picnic by the water.

📍 4 rue Louis Revon, 74000 Annecy. Open every day except Monday.

Le Cerf Volant: friendly bar and seasonal cooking

Le Cerf Volant is an address I like a lot in Annecy, both for lunch and for a drink at the end of the day. Located a stone’s throw from the centre, it is a bar-restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. People come as much for the craft beer selection as for the simple, well-made cooking.

At lunchtime, the menu offers seasonal, generous dishes with no fuss, always with a vegetarian option. The plates are hearty and well balanced, and the value for money is frankly good for Annecy. You can feel real attention paid to the products, without overdoing it. It is the kind of place you easily go back to for a lunch with colleagues or a no-fuss meal.

In the evening, Le Cerf Volant turns more into a bar, with a lovely selection of local and craft beers, but also wine and a few small things to nibble. The atmosphere is friendly and lively, but still pleasant for chatting. A versatile, reliable and always nice address, whether to eat or simply to spend a good time.

Best restaurants in Annecy: Asian 🍣

Having spent more than 6 months in Taiwan, I really like Asian cuisine (in the broad sense, even if of course there are big differences between them).

Maï

Maï was one of the very first restaurants I tried in Annecy, even before I came to live here. Since then I often go back, and I especially give in to the takeaway dishes. The cuisine is Vietnamese and their bo bun is to die for! Products are fresh and the dishes are generous. Prices are a little high in my view.

Yatta Ramen

Yatta Ramen has become my go-to canteen for a good reason: their ramen is really good. Yatta Ramen excels in the art of ramen and donburi, offering Japanese cooking that is both tasty and balanced. Whether you eat in, take away or have it delivered, Yatta Ramen keeps innovating with its many recipes.

In Annecy, as in their other restaurants in the Rhône-Alpes region, Yatta Ramen offers a welcoming setting with delicate wooden decor and carefully chosen tableware. The menu is full of delights such as the Kaizen with rice noodles and red curry broth, onigiri, salads, miso soups, organic salmon tataki and, of course, an impressive selection of ramen with varied broths and tasty donburi.

The chicken, farm beef or coconut dashi ramen, and the donburi options ranging from chashu to a seasonal veggie version, show Yatta Ramen’s commitment to offering high-quality cooking. Even local ingredients are showcased, highlighting the successful fusion between Japanese culinary traditions and regional produce.

To finish on a sweet note, the mochi dessert is an experience not to be missed. The combination of friendly service, a pleasant setting and outstanding cooking makes Yatta Ramen a place where every visit is a renewed pleasure.

Takeaway and quick bites 🍔

Bungal’eau, the snack with its feet in the lake at Talloires

This one takes you a little outside the centre of Annecy, but it is clearly worth the detour. The Bungal’eau is the little blue hut right in front of the Cottage Bise hotel, on the promenade that runs along the lake at Talloires. We went on a Sunday with Cyril and Rhéa, and it is one of our favourite snacking breaks by the water.

Cyril had the lake roll and I had a Greek salad, both very fresh and very tasty. The menu plays on savoury or sweet salads, bagels, homemade pastries and freshly squeezed fruit juices, always with that simple, well-made side. You do not need to be a hotel guest to enjoy it. The hut is open to everyone, takeaway only.

If you are walking or cycling around the lake, doing a hike at Roc de Chère, or even a paddle session towards the Grand Perthuis cave, it is clearly THE spot to sit down for a refreshing break without leaving your route.

📍 Hôtel Cottage Bise, 390 route du Port, 74290 Talloires
🕐 Every day from 12.15pm to 6.30pm, only from July to mid-September

Chez Gaston

For waffle lovers in all their forms, I recommend Chez Gaston, a very cool little shop in the centre of Annecy that serves delicious Liège waffles!

Recently they have also been treating us to savoury waffles (with reblochon, tomato and mozzarella, salmon or ham and Emmental) at gentle prices (and a spot a few steps from the lake). The sweet waffles are amazing, and they offer quite a few flavours of ice cream and sorbet. Their vanilla ice cream was even voted 3rd best vanilla ice cream in France by the famous Gault & Millau guide.
