Kalenji Run Active. Well. A nice collection I discovered few weeks ago. Bright colors, very nice design … I had a crush. A collection designed for beginner or in general runner who run small distances, up to an hour, once or twice a week, on roads . Unfortunately, as I’m training for my trail I’m not the best one to test it ! No worries, my little Morgane is the perfect one to do that and devote herself to try it, again and again.
KALENJI RUN ACTIVE, TESTED BY MORGANE
Last month, thanks to my friend Camille, I was lucky to test Kalenji Run Active the new shoes for beginner. The name sounds perfect to me! Active…yes I am ! So I test again and again, and make them eat the road ! So, let’s talk about these pretty shoes that might surprise you.
AESTHETICS AND DESIGN OF KALENJI RUN ACTIVE
Let’s be honest, a lot of shoe designs are flashy. Kalenji Run Active shoes don’t make a difference, but succed to mix color and sober style. They can be easily associated with most of your clothes and allow you to put a little piece of color but not as a leprechaun… noway !
I was surprised that they fit perfectly the shape of my foot, especially regarding the width. Because as little leprechaun, I have also little feet! But there, no sensation of floating in the shoe. Alleluia !
In summary, I was seduced by the aesthetics and comfort of the shoes. But what about them in action? Pretty shoes, it’s good, but you have to feel great when you run with them, it’s better!
KALENJI RUN ACTIVE WALK AND ACTIVE RUN
Before running, I walked a few days with them. To avoid pains during the first running. And, one morning, let’s go ! I took the shoes, my shorts and ran 6km to recover. Without any pressure and eyes still sleeping^^
During the first real strides, the Kalenji Run Active shoes are quite rigid. During first kilometers to be honest. But don’t worry, it’s new shoes, it’s totally normal. It will take a few run to make them fit to your feet!
But then, the feeling is quiete good. They maintain my ankle properly without tightening it too much. Another positive point, their lightness allows me to accelerate easily without feeling “heavy” during strides !
KALENJI RUN ACTIVE ARE FOR SHORT RUN ONLY
I DO NOT ADVISE THEM FOR LONGER RUN BEYOND 8 OR 10KM !
The cushioning is a little bit weak when you exceed a certain mileage. It’s normal, the shoes are made for short distance. After 10km, the cushioning is insufficient, unless you start to jump like a kangaroo.
One slight note of caution: the laces come undone quite easily. The texture of the fabric makes them slip, which can be annoying during a race. Don’t forget the double knots!
I also wear them during active walking and was very satisfied of them, my feet didn’t get warm, which is rare enough to say, especially in the middle of summer! No blister or feeling of swollen feet, really it was a pleasure to walk with them!
In conclusion, I was conquered by the Kalenji Run Active ! Cheep but with a nice design, which combines style, support and lightness. Perfect for short run!
